Finding anything of value from JW`s,is like looking for a kernel of corn in a bucket of sh*t..You`ll eventually find the kernel of corn, but the rest is quite nasty...OUTLAW
Agreed.
i was reading some of the articles my mom brought home and gave to me and i was wondering do the jw's have any good ideas on a good way to live your life.
i mean do they know anything about how to live and what to do when you have problems.
i was wondering because i want to know if i can follow any of the info in questions young people ask book or are they wrong and every aspect and should i just never read it again.

Ewww. I think I threw up in my mouth a little.

so much is interwoven besides leaving a religion or philosophy behind.
recently, i had the good fortune of bringing my best friend out of the .
refusing the label of "selfish" if I live authentically.
Thanks for those words, Mum. Very nice way to get through to anyone, I think.
Recommendations About Leaving The Truth
First and foremost, I'd stop calling it "the truth."
Congratulations, Jedi Knight! Many happy returns!
a thread on baptism made me think about this.
i remember at a circuit assembly there were about 15 people getting baptized.
there were 2 "dunkers" in the pool.
Actually, what's not silly about baptism?
Oh yeah, getting eaten by crocodiles.
as part of your "dedication and baptism" did you actually go to jehovah in prayer and "dedicate" your life to him prior to your baptism?
at the time when the elders were reviewing the "questions" with me, i hadn't a clue that i was supposed to do this until one of them asked directly.
i answered in the affirmative anyway ... wanting the incessant questioning to be over as quickly as possible.
yup. I was a silly 13-year-old who still believed in her sky daddy. He was the only one who'd listen to my incessant prayer chatter anyway.
i just came from my mom's house, where my sister was in from out of town.
my sister tells my mom that at her meeting this morning, they announced that while jws are out and about in their dc cities, they are not to wear jeans, shorts, or t-shirts, so as to "stand out as different.
" (guess the full-body placard reading, "we are jehovah's witnesses" would've been a little over-the-top, eh?).
It makes me want to wear a nice short-waisted baby doll t-shirt and my silly pants - (that low-waisted, ass-showing pair of denims) - with my nice new floral thong to the KH and bend over a lot to pick up imaginary fuzzles off the floor. I think I should attach a gigantic Darwin EVOLVE fish charm to the top of the thong, right at the top of my dainty butt crack.
i'm a bit of a newbie here i suppose, but i've been fascinated by the photo threads that pop up now and then - notably leo's, purps and sparks.
so i thought i'd do my bit for posterity and bring you some pics from the uk that i've taken over the last few years, if that's all right with you that is!.
although i'm fully digital these days, my early work was film-based so, as a result of that training i tend to just use photoshop in the same way that i used to use my darkroom - ie.
The Loch Broome picture is arresting. I can see why you posted it first. It is one to take pride in. That angle must have been a bit of a challenge. They're all beautiful!
Edit: Wow! I just looked at all the rest (after the first 3). You're really good at this! Maybe you should take it up profesionally?
Very nice angles! And lovely subjects as well! Thanks for posting this.
has anyone else heard (or have i been playing ostrich) that the door to door work is no longer necessary????
the follow up to that was it's not true.
but, it was part of a talk at a 1 day assembly.
It's been fulfilled on Planet JWD. It's over for most of us.
what is it like by the way i will be attending community colledge in a hope of going to a unversity.
i am kind of old for it but i am tired of hearing how stupid i am.. i am deffinately taking foreign languages several i want to learn.. probaly will be taking it courses maybe accounting and some engineering.
i almost don't care just want a degree..
It's well worth going, 5go. You'll probably have to spend less time on the board and more time studying, but you'll enjoy it because you clearly have a mind for academics. I hope it all works out for you!
My only suggestions is do settle on a major/career choice.
I only opted for a 2-year Liberal Arts degree and have taken enough courses in social sciences over the years to have a B.A. in something. But I could never decide on exactly what I wanted to major in, until about 3 years into my studies. I ended up settling for a two-year degree in Liberal Arts just to get it over with; wish I had it in Social Science (or anything a bit more useful career-wise).
It's good to know a few things, but it's better to be able to use them in the real world.
Anyway, good luck with it all; try to enjoy it no matter what. It's mostly very interesting (and worth getting through whichever classes you find boring) to get to the goal, whatever it may be.
